An OEM needs an axial fan for its new commercial air-cooled condenser units. The axial fan is used for the North American HVAC systems product line. The primary requirement was an axial fan capable of operating reliably on a 380 VAC, 60 Hz three-phase power supply. There are strict dimensional requirements:
- Mounting panel no larger than 415 mm x 415 mm
- Maximum depth is 120mm
- Minimum airflow is 2,500 m³/h (approx. 1470 CFM)
- Noise Level cannot exceed 70 dBA
- Operating temperature range: -30°C to +60°C

Engineering Solution
The client’s application involved a simple, cost-sensitive on/off control logic. LONGWELL’s technical PM responded with an AC induction motor rather than an EC motor, avoiding the need for an external controller or complex wiring. The diameter of the selected axial fan is 350mm, with a five-blade cold-rolled steel impeller. The LWAA4D350S-5MKB-22-00 model was chosen. This includes an integrated square mounting panel of 410mm x 410mm. It achieves an IP54 protection rating against dust and water spray, making it suitable for direct installation in outdoor condenser units.
