● Airflow Direction
For axial fans, the direction of airflow is parallel to the axis of the blades.
In centrifugal fans, gas is drawn in parallel to the main shaft; it is then accelerated by the rapidly rotating impeller, subsequently changes direction, and exits perpendicular to the main shaft.
The airflow direction of cross flow fans is unique. The airflow is perpendicular to the motor axis and passes through the fan impeller twice—first entering radially into the blades from one side, traversing the internal space, and then exiting radially from the other side. Both the intake and exhaust directions lie within the same plane.

The impellers of cross flow fans are primarily constructed from aluminum alloy or engineering plastics; they are arranged within a cylindrical housing spanning the width of the fan, thereby forming an air duct.
