Fan coil unit consists of indoor heating/cooling coil, fan, motor, filter, and outdoor condensing unit. Driven by the fan, air is delivered into the coil, cooled or heated, and then supplied to the room to maintain a comfortable ambient temperature.
Benefiting from high energy efficiency, fan coil unit can reduce heating and cooling costs by 20%. It also enables independent temperature control for each individual room, and plays a critical role in the field of building ventilation. Accordingly, fan coil unit is widely applied in offices, hospitals, shopping malls, residential buildings, commercial constructions and other types of facilities.
Longwell offers an extensive full range of fan coil units, which are available with both AC and EC motors. We support multiple installation modes including vertical, horizontal, ceiling-mounted, wall-mounted and floor-mounted. Furthermore, we can meet customized material requirements regardless of whether metal, plastic or other polymer materials are required.
Equipped with highly integrated external-rotor EC motor, Longwell centrifugal fans achieve the energy conversion efficiency of 80% to 90%.
High-quality raw materials and rigorous testing ensure a long service life for the centrifugal fan, as well as an ingress protection rating of up to IP55.
Longwell possesses highly flexible OEM/ODM manufacturing capabilities, covering impeller diameters ranging from φ133 mm to φ400 mm.
Our extensive variety of centrifugal fans meets all your industrial ventilation needs, providing you with the most professional solutions.

Fan coil unit (FCU) is typically installed directly within a conditioned space to treat and recirculate indoor air, or to introduce fresh outside air. The built-in fan draws room air into the cabinet and drives it across the heat exchange coil.
The entire process is automated by an integrated thermostat. By constantly monitoring the real-time room temperature against your setpoint, it triggers the coil to either heat or cool the air stream. This continuous circulation ensures a highly stable and comfortable indoor environment.
The system generally operates in 2 primary modes:
● Cooling Mode: When the room temperature rises above the setpoint, the thermostat opens a control valve, allowing chilled water to flow through the coil. As warm air passes over the cold fins, its temperature drops before being supplied back into the room.
● Heating Mode: The system operates on the exact reverse principle, utilizing hot water to efficiently warm the space.
Every Longwell fan coil unit is manufactured in-house under rigorous, data-driven factory controls. We don’t just assemble components; we engineer reliability. By combining advanced machinery with strict quality standards, we ensure that the performance on our spec sheets matches the exact performance you get in the field.
The core of our FCUs is built on high-precision automated production lines. We utilize optimized copper tube geometries paired with premium hydrophilic aluminum fins to maximize thermal transfer. This precise manufacturing process guarantees a highly stable heat exchange efficiency of 70% to 85% under standard chilled water conditions (7/12°C)—consistent across every batch we produce.
Furthermore, we don’t guess on performance; we prove it. Before any unit is cleared for shipping, it undergoes comprehensive bench testing. We strictly verify airflow dynamics across a wide operational range of 200 to 2400 m³/h, while cooling capacities are accurately tested from 1.0 kW up to 12 kW to match exact model specifications.
To guarantee a true plug-and-play installation, 100% of our units are subjected to zero-tolerance checks for air tightness, water leakage, and electrical safety. These multi-stage inspections drastically eliminate on-site failure rates. When you source from Longwell, you are investing in engineered stability and measurable performance you can trust.
Daily: Inspect the exterior for any visible damage or abnormalities. Wipe down surfaces and clear any surrounding debris.
Weekly: Listen for any unusual operating noise or excessive vibration. Verify that the thermostat setpoints align with current operational requirements.
Monthly: Inspect air filters for blockages; clean or replace as necessary. Check the condensate drain pan, cooling coil, and strainers for dirt or algae buildup, cleaning them thoroughly to prevent clogs.
Semi-Annually (6 Months): Verify the operational status of the fan, motor, coil, ductwork, and air grilles. Cycle the motorized control valves to ensure proper switching between heating and cooling modes. Flush the condensate drain line to confirm unobstructed flow. Test the emergency stop (E-stop) switch for proper functionality.
Annually: Ensure all components are clean, intact, and functioning correctly. Retighten all electrical connections, mounting screws, and bolts. Measure airflow (CFM/CMH) and water flow rates to confirm they meet design specifications. Inspect all pipe joints and valves for leaks or signs of corrosion.
Every 4 Years: While maintaining the aforementioned maintenance frequency, it is advisable to test the fresh air, recirculated air, and supply air systems—as well as the fire dampers—every four years to ensure they are operating as designed.
In HVAC projects, the fundamental difference between an Air Handling Unit (AHU) and a Fan Coil Unit (FCU) lies in the system hierarchy and fresh air handling capacity.
AHUs are large in size and are typically installed on rooftops or in dedicated mechanical rooms. In addition to basic heating and cooling, they integrate functions such as humidification, dehumidification, advanced filtration, and even heat recovery. They are responsible for bringing in and treating large volumes of external “fresh air,” which is then pumped through an extensive network of ductwork to various areas of the building.
FCUs are compact and are usually installed directly in the ceilings of individual offices or hotel rooms. They primarily consist of a fan and a coil through which hot or cold water flows. The function of an FCU is to continuously draw in stale air from the room, pass it over the coil to heat or cool it, and then recirculate it directly back into the same room; therefore, it does not require connection to a large, complex ductwork system.
We use an extended, heavy-gauge galvanized drain pan (stainless steel optional) that fully covers the valve and piping connections. Combined with high-density closed-cell insulation and mandatory factory leak testing, our units guarantee zero condensation overflow on-site.
Absolutely. Our backward-curved centrifugal fans with EC motors match European aerodynamics and efficiency 1:1. Every impeller passes strict G6.3 dynamic balancing. You get the exact same engineered reliability, but at a fraction of the cost and lead time.
Yes. Because we manufacture our motors in-house, we natively configure units for 115V/60Hz (North America), 220-240V/50Hz (Global), or 0-10V DC for BMS integration. You get a true plug-and-play solution tailored to your local power grid.
Of course. We control acoustic performance at the source using aerodynamically optimized impellers and heavy internal cabinet insulation. Under standard low-speed operation, our FCUs consistently run below 35 dB(A), ensuring an ultra-quiet environment.
Standard production takes just 2 to 3 weeks due to our highly automated coil and motor lines. For massive construction projects, we coordinate directly with your site’s Gantt chart to arrange phased, rolling deliveries—ensuring you never hold excess inventory or face material shortages.
