One of LONGWELL’s clients was developing a new line of packaged air conditioning units and needed a centrifugal fan that met their strict performance and dimensional criteria. They request a standard 220V single-phase AC centrifugal fan that can deliver up to 3,914 m³/h airflow. The client also limits the installation space. The centrifugal fan needs to be installed in a small area and achieve the required airflow quantity. Besides, the client’s project demanded a wide operational temperature range, from -40°C to +60°C. It is because the air conditioning units were destined for global distribution, including regions with extreme cold and heat.
LONGWELL LWFA-E-250-01 is the ideal choice for our client. The forward curved impeller can meet the requirements of high air volume against low-to-medium static pressure within a small overall size. Its selected external rotor motor design further enhances compactness and provides superior motor cooling as it is positioned directly in the airflow. Q: Can the LWFA-E-250-01 be controlled with a variable frequency drive (VFD) for speed modulation?
A: Using a VFD to control this type of motor is not recommended. It may lead to poor performance, increased noise level, and motor overheating. For applications that require precise and efficient speed control, we recommend selecting a model from our EC motor centrifugal fans.
