Application engineering note

LONGWELL can assess centrifugal fan replacement candidates using the existing fan specification and the equipment interfaces. A useful enquiry includes the operating duty point as well as the physical dimensions of the component being replaced.
Compare the operating requirements
Provide the required airflow and static pressure, the existing motor supply, frequency and operating speed or control signal. Include the fan curve where available and identify the equipment’s intended operating modes.
The LWBE family uses backward-curved centrifugal impellers and includes different motor platforms. A proposed replacement should identify the exact motor and controller configuration so that the electrical comparison uses the correct supply and command interfaces.
Compare the mechanical interfaces
Check inlet diameter and inlet-ring geometry, mounting-hole positions, overall depth, discharge space and cable routing. For an assembly with a scroll housing, include its outlet dimensions and orientation. Send photographs or an assembly drawing to show nearby restrictions.
Keep the proposed model, drawing revision and required validation checks together during the review. Final selection should confirm the duty point, voltage and control compatibility, mounting arrangement and the equipment evaluation needed for the project. This gives the engineering team specific criteria for assessing the replacement candidate.
Discuss your fan requirement
Send LONGWELL your airflow and pressure duty point, power supply, available installation space, control requirements, operating environment and drawings. Contact our engineering team to discuss a suitable configuration.
Choose the right centrifugal fan
Longwell manufactures 1,146 centrifugal fans in-house. Send airflow, static pressure and voltage — an engineer replies with a matching model, performance curve and price within one working day.
