How Pneumatic Suction Carries Flour Through a Mill
A suction conveyor uses a pressure difference to move air through a controlled material pickup. The air carries flour to a receiver, where the product is recovered before the air reaches the clean-side fan.
Follow the airflow through the equipment
Meter material into moving air
The pickup must admit sufficient air as flour enters. Feeding more material changes the gas-to-solids loading rather than automatically increasing transport capacity.
Move through the conveying line
The mixture follows the pipe, including vertical lifts and bends. Pipe geometry and material behavior determine the required transport conditions.
Separate product from air
The receiving separator recovers flour and the following filter captures remaining fines. The product discharge must maintain the designed pressure boundary.
Maintain suction
The clean-side air mover creates the pressure difference across the complete path. Pressure feedback can adjust its speed as the required duty changes.
What the fan contributes
- Establishes the negative pressure for this suction arrangement.
- Overcomes combined pickup, conveying, separator and filter losses.
- Maintains the required transport condition as load and filter resistance vary.
What interrupts the intended process
- An overloaded pickup can interrupt reliable solids transport.
- Leaks divert air away from the intended pickup.
- Filter loading increases resistance and reduces the available operating margin.
Prepare the operating conditions
Share your layout and the operating information below. If a value is still unknown, identify it so the next measurement can be agreed before a model is selected.
Match the fan to this air path
Start a LONGWELL industrial centrifugal evaluation with the complete conveying duty. The required negative pressure may exceed ordinary ventilation-fan duty. A product-family listing is a route for discussion; a project must confirm that an offered construction and tested performance actually meet the process.
Where it sits
On the clean side after the flour receiver and filter, establishing suction through the conveying line.
Why consider this configuration
Higher-pressure industrial centrifugal designs are a discussion route only; the required vacuum may exceed ventilation fan duty.
